Dea wind power project developed by China Longyuan Power Group Corporation Ltd in South Africa was successfully completed and put into operation on Nov 17th. This is China's first investment, construction and operation of wind power projects in Africa.

The project total investment is about 2.5 billion yuan in two phases of construction,are located near Dea town of Northern cape , installed capacity of 100500 kilowatts and 144000 kilowatts respectively, were installed by China Guodian United Power production of 163 sets of 1.5 MW wind turbines. Completion of the project has realized the joint "going global" for the development of wind power projects of China Guodian Corporation and the self-manufacturing wind power equipment.

In recent years, the shortage of electricity has become increasingly serious in Africa, and developing new energy has become a trend. South Africa has abundant wind resources, and has great potential for market development.

In 2013, the company and its local partners participated in the bidding for the third round of renewable energy projects organized by South Africa's Ministry of Energy and won the bidding for the Dea wind power project in the competition with many internationally renowned power companies.
